Hi there people. I am writing to see if I can get some opinions from some experienced Pantera owners. Let me start by saying that when I was 7 my mom's cousin showed up at a family outing with a 71 Pantera he had just purchased second hand. I remember the short ride I got on that day. To make the story short, the car was owned by him until the early 80's when it was stolen & recovered. The car was then sold to my uncle & has been in his barn ever since. The car had the steering column damaged, some wiring messed up when it was stolen. The crooks then started to take the motor apart thinking it was seized. The car still has all the parts to the best of my knowledge however needs to be put back together obviously repairing what does not work.
I have not seen he car in 10 years. My uncle mentioned to me last night that it was time for him to clean his barn & knew that I have always dreamed of owning the car. He wants me to have first option to buy the car. At this point I have no idea how much he wants for it. I do however know that typically he thinks that other Panteras bring some good money so his must be worth plenty as well. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he will be asking a fair price for the car & not dreaming thinking it's worth is higher than it really is.
With this being said, what kind of money is a 71 Pantera in this condition worth? The body is good, some dings, paint is ok for a driver, motor not running (but all there), interior is orig. in pretty good condition.
What is this car worth in say good driving condition, not a show car?
