Typical 'driver' Panteras needing some work are maybe $20,000. I would first get a "bondo-meter" or paint-thickness gauge to see whats under that shiny paint. Rust repairs on these cars will bankrupt you unless you are highly skilled or own your own body shop. Then I would get a local expert to assess the condition of the ZF transaxle in there. A complete overhsul on a worn-out ZF (now 31 years old, remember) can exceed $10,000. Most of the rest is replaceable at reasonable cost/effort. But those two can wreck your budget forever.
