Ahhhh, DeTom,
balancing is a subject debated amongst engine builders.
In my opinion, for whatever that is worth, yes balancing is worthwhile, for 2 reasons. First, I think once you have driven a motor that has been dynamically balalced & felt how smoothly it operates, you'll want dynamic balancing for all of your performance motors. The smoothness of dynamic balancing can be felt at all rpm, not just at high rpm. I admit this is an emotional aspect, but the motor gives the operator a feeling of reassurance, of smoothness & strength. Second, I believe dynamic balancing reduces the vibrational strain the reciprocating assembly inflicts upon the block and upon itself. It is one of my ingredients in engine building to insure an engine will survive hard use. It has worked for me.
