Reply to "High Dollar Pantera market heats up..."

SteveD,

As Pantera owners we're lucky to have a great variety of builders, restorers, parts suppliers and inventors of quality replacement components. Thanks in part to this PI Board, it’s easy to find a solid network for any help we might need.

I don't think the occasional high price paid for some Panteras is going to affect the overall growth in the value of our cars. Most owners I know still have trouble trying to get our insurance providers to up the 'agreed value' when we want to increase our coverage. Try to get the evaluation experts to reliably price our cars based on this “high dollar market.”

Like most others here on this board I love the way these cars look and how well they perform. I also don't care about the investment. And doubt I will ever get back all the money I lavish on these exhilarating beasts.

You can still find a great Pantera for not much money. I’m glad we still have no ‘pedigree’ like the other Italian marques. The fact that the Ring Bros, SEMA and Foose have recently shown such interest can only be good for all. But the real interest in our old supercars may come when the next flaky industrialist buys the brand and actually builds a decent car to bear the logo. Then the old cars will be hunted down by collectors and the value will honestly rise.

At that point I’ll take all the good stuff off mine, get all those old ugly things out of my storage room and return it to its poor performing, unreliable, original state and sell it for enough to build another blasphemous killer creation of Mr Tjaarda’s original beauty.
