Reply to "Hot air pockets?"

Well George, I finally solved the biggest problem of the overheating of the engine. It kept blowing it out the cap (hot antifreeze) after a 5 minute run while the tubes to the radiator were cool to the touch. So I suspected a flow problem. It was the lower radiator steel downtube was rusted and completely restricted to about the size of a pencil! So I removed all the other tubes cleaned and painted them. Did an initial fill and it was already 200% better. Now I can use your bleed instructions to finish it off. I just need more antifreeze. After I ran it for 10 minutes, I just heard a light hiss, no more gurgling or spewing! What a releief! Overheating a new engine over and over again can't be a good thing?!? I'll let you know what the car runs at. I laid the rebuilt stock radiator down and put a 2000 cfm pontiac sucker fan behind it. I'll keep my fingers crossed!
