Hot paint

Greetings

I have a piece of aluminum sheet metal attached to the underside my trunk to protect the paint from being burnt away by my old school 180’s. The appearance of the sheet metal is a little tacky and would like to replace it with a more attractive adhesive backed foil insulation or blanket. I have no experience with these products and am not willing to risk my paint on a trial and error process. Anyone have experience with heat reflectors? Do they hold up?
