Reply to "How to remove thermostat block off plate"

I was able to remove it. The plate is steel and I started with a 1/8 hole and #10 screw with no luck. I progressed to a 3/16 drill bit and a bigger screw and it popped out. I got lucky with the angled screw as it pressed against the engine block. Thank you both !!!
