I've been acumulating parts for 2 projects on the Pantera 1) new plugs/wires/dist cap/points/condenser/and coil, then 2) new water pump, correct thermostat, silicon hoses with lined clamps. In terms of actual engine performance, actually zero problems, car runs perfectly, but more than anything I just wanted to make sure the ignition components were fresh because I didn't actually install the. In terms of cooling, the car would run at an indicated 160 down the highway any time of the year, but the temp would slowly creep up in stop and go traffic. It has a new Modine radiator and new electric fans, everything is operational. I was suspicious of the thermostat. Trying to get ready for a show this weekend, I decided to just tackle the ignition and install a new set of valve covers. I reached a point of no return on the right side valve cover and had to remove the coolant tube from the thermostat housing to the tank, and sure enough, a 160 windsor thermostat. What changes will I see by simply installing the correct 180 Cleveland thermostat? As always, thanks...
