Well, now when the engine has warmed up, the little hat on the proper stat will block off the water passage leading into the block - designed to quicken warmup leading to improved emisions - and all the water pushed by the water pump will now be flowing to the radiator, instead of just some of it. I would expect improved cooling, wouldn't you? Wink

Good catch!

Thanks, yea, you know how is it when you buy a car, there are alot of unknowns until you just dig in and see for yourself. Actually I was hoping it had the wrong Tstat, or none. My BOSS302, although absolutely fresh when i bought it acted wierd in terms of temp. Car came from AZ, and it would run really cool, then the temp gauge would be all over the place. When I yanked the motor for detailing, I discovered it had no thermostat. Instant fix, the car never gets hot now, even in prolonged idle situations. Thanks
