Well, it is a luxury car! Most 1974 Panteras are L cars, short for Luxury (Lusso in Italian).

Here are photos of the drain hole in the gill. It is the reason the that the factory installed the hose. You can see the drain hole in the second photo. I put a piece of yellow wire in the hole to make it more visible.
