Ignition Switch Removal

I'm trying to remove an ignition switch from the steering column. The parts book shows the ignition switch collar bolted onto the steering column but mine is mounted with what almost looks like a rivet or a stud with a press on fitting instead of a nut. Can anyone tell me how to remove this without damaging the unit? Thanks in advance.
