It is definitely not a stock 1972 ignition switch. It appears the tube has been modified for the replacement switch but the lock feature slot in the shaft appears to be unmolested.

The turn signal cancel cam in your photo appears to be aluminum and I believe those were/are sold by one of our vendors

I believe you could return your car to the OEM ignition without any difficulty
