Reply to "ignition wiring"

Dennis,

the blue/black is the wire to the tach, originally attached to the negative coil terminal

I cannot find a pink wire in either Ford's wiring diagram or Bill Taylor's documents. The only pink wire I am familiar with in the engine compartment has a black stripe and connects to the oil pressure sender.

the light blue wire is the resistance wire from the key to the coil + terminal (12V in the run position)

A red wire activates the starter solenoid when the key is in the start position, there was also a red wire landed on the + terminal of the coil that energized the throttle position solenoid, after first passing through a pvs switch (have no idea what pvs means at this time)

should have been an orange wire from the starter solenoid to the coil + terminal (12V in the start position)

your friend on the DTBB, George
