The stock '96 and '97 cobras I've seen on dynos and read about weren't as high as 285 hp (the ones with headers, pullies, etc. did 285 or better but not much). The 4.6 supercharged is a powerful motor, but so is a supercharged 351 cleaveland and windsor. From what I've seen and read it's very expensive. They are nice smooth motors and are a modern way to go.
