When I removed my dash, I left the gauges in place. I pulled it out just enough to unplug the 4 multiwire plugs. 1 for the speedo, 1 for the tach, 1 for the 4-way flasher button and the last one goes to the gauges in the center console. There were also wires to the e-brake and brake pad ware indicators and well as the lights in the center of the dash. This is the 73 I was working on.
