Thanks John,

Ok, based on what you said I should:

Connect power (from battery side) to 30
Connect the switch wire to 85
Connect power to fan to 87
Relay ground to?

Per the instructions (Perma-Cool Relay)for the relay:

Connect power (from battery side) to 30 (red wire on connector)
Connect to switch to 86 (white wire on connector)
Connect power to fan to 87 (orange wire on connector)
Connect relay ground to 85 (black wire on connector)

To repeat,the switch completes the ground.

Sorry I just don't want to fry anything.
