installing mallory unilite

I tried to install it and it won't work. Anyone have any suggestions. I connected the 3 wires as per instructions: Brown-to coil mounting bracket. Red-to positive side of coil. Green-to negative side of coil. I left the red and blue wires connected to the coil that come from the factory ballast resistor. Am I overlooking something here? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks..
