Actually, from what I understand, the ZF is actually right side up in a GT-40. They mount it upside down in a Pantera for additional ground clearance. So I am not sure what your cone shaped thing is, but it might be where the speedometer cable is supposed to go, which on a Pantera would be on the right side, but since you are right side up, would be on the left side. Does this make any sense??
