Yes, and no. The Pertronix ignition module requires genuine 12 volts. I am assuming the Pertronix distributor requires the same as their module. I left the ballast resistor in place and used it to trigger the tach. I think I have read on other threads that this may be unnecessary but I left it that way since it worked. And if someone wanted to go back to 100% stock it would easier for them.
