Is my clutch going south?

I would like to confirm that this my clutch before tearing it all apart.

Engages fine. Seems to pull strong with no slipping.

Symtoms: start from a dead stop, no problem.
Start to accelerate and get a steady screech,screech,screech.
When I let off the throttle and coast or brake to slow down, no noise at all. As soon as I get back on the throttle the noise returns.

Is this a symptom of a failing clutch?
