I look at this as both an investment, as well as fullfilling a dream, so I'd like to get one that is as stock as possible. Obviously, beggars can't be choosers, so if it had a bit of "bling-bling" on it, I'd smile and be grateful.
While I'm a very good at "wrench-turning" (see my avatar), I have no flair for body work. Naturally, I wouldn't want one with a seized engine or transmission. As ALL of us want -- I'd like one as rust free as possible, but don't mind one that requires mechanical work. I wouldn't even mind one that would require painting as I've already figured that into my budget, as it were.
In the meantime, I'll adjust the tip of my pith helmet to a jaunty angle and keep hunting until I find one that wants me as its parent.....
