The second gear syncro is usually the first to go, but it may not be "gone". It may be a linkage adjustment, a clutch release problem, or a combination or the two. You also need time to get used to the tranny. For reverse, push in the clutch, count to 5, then make the shift to reverse. You'll see.

Gary Hall had his simularly equiped "Big Red" running in the tens back in the early 1990s. I am sure if someone is willing to make enough mods that a Pantera can be a nine or even eight second car. How quick do you want to go?? How much do you want to spend?? Heck you go far enough and you just wind up with a pantera replica fiberglass funny car. Smiler
