HPD in Oahu use Laser exclusively. Maui is a mixed bag, both laser and radar. I have a Blinder laser system on both my cars. And have installed the systems in my friends cars who got a cash deal when they attended SEMA last year. This system is the same as the AL G9 with the option of up to 4 heads, depending on the model. The firmware is software updatable via USB port and has a parking sensor function. It is hard wired into the car, unfortunately, so you must buy a system for each car. The system installed on my truck gets more use, since it is my daily driver, and works great. If your radio has a mute function, the system can activate the mute function as soon as the jammer is triggered so you can hear the alert. And yes, the current version will auto shut off when optioned. I have yet to see a head to head comparison but Blider has been around for a while. It will be interesting to see how well the system you are looking at fares in a test. Same technology so I'm pretty sure they fare the same. They both use he same laser diode as the one used in the laser guns. That's how they are able to blank out the gun.
