Damn good thing you saw that before hitting the loud pedal!

Probably, who ever mounted the wheels, slammed the wheel over the caliper and craking the line at the caliper before aligning the wheels on the studs is my guess.
Takes a little more effort to do it right.
I won't let anyone mount my wheels anymore.
