If you don't leave in the middle of rush hour it shouldn't take 8 hours? AND, yes, even if it does take 8 hours it is well worth the drive! You'll get to meet a lot of great people. Not to mention all the great cars! There are five chapter in and around SoCal so I'm sure you'll find a group to caravan with. Good Luck...Curt
