Lights won't turn off

I know, it's usually the other way around. I have the infamous speedometer tick. I decided to try and fix it tonight. I pulled on the speedo cable to try and get more slack and all of a sudden, the lights turned on. And now, I can't get them to turn off. All my interior and parking lights are on. The headlights didn't pop up. If I jiggle the wires to the amp guage, I can get them to go off briefly. Anyone have any suggestions.
