Longer front lower control arms

Has anyone experimented with lengthening the front lower control arms to increase camber? Based on my measurements, I figure this is a preferable method of setting the camber rather than adjusting the top ball joint location. The reason I say that is because by lengthening the lower control arm, the front track will slightly increase which should assist handling and better fill out the GTS flares. Thoughts?
