Just a suggestion...put a brass T in the block where the stock sending unit screws in, then screw your original gauge sending unit into the top of the T and screw a small 1-1.5" mechanical gauge in the side of the T. I just did this to mine to make sure I was getting an accurate reading from my dash oil pressure gauge, I have read that the original gauges can give unreliable pressure readings. The mechanical guage is permanant and can be seen just by opening the deck lid. Good luck!
