First, I am not in violation of copyright
law.
For example: I posted the information in response to someone doing some historical research, who requested it. (Research)
I am not doing this for profit. (Profit)
I did not include the whole article, as I left some amount of text out, and all the images. If this article is included in the Brooklands book, it represents a couple of pages of that whole book.
(Reasonable percentage of a body of work.)

To clarify, from your words above,

I am not copying scanned images of currently available books (unless you mean the 1970 magazine cover, which I did do, to assist the buyer in locating the correct magazine issue of interest.)

Tech manuals ? Where did you get this from ?
The topic was old magazine articles !
