Thanks Rover for your ideas.

I have done most of them. When I overhaul/upgrade the engine (not too far in the future now) I will go with Aluminum heads and I like the starter suggestion (number 8). I will look at number 2 and 11. I will probably have a look at an aluminum water pump as well.
