Mallory ProMaster coil with a Duraspark I control module ?

This is a 2 part question for similar projects, that I've seen a lot of discussion of in these forums.

1) My 351C-4V (in a '31 Ford Coupe) currently has a Mallory dual-point with Mallory ProMaster 28720 coil.  Nothing currently wrong with the dual point; but I think the engine would benefit with the hotter spark and reliability issues.  The coil says (it spoke to me directly...) it can be used with points or with electronic ignitions, specifically mentioning the Duraspark.  The installation of the Mallory coil specifically stated to use their resistor, IN ADDITION TO, the stock Ford resistor.  This is in contrast to what I've read about the DS1 coil.  What would your recommendations be ??

2) I also want to convert my "other" car, a 64 Comet with 289/C4 to a Duraspark.  Similar situation: will use DS1 control module, 77 302 dist, and I have another Mallory Promaster #29440, which is strictly for electronic ignitions.  And again, the question of usability in this setup (vs. a DS1 coil) and the resistor/resistance question.  But in this case, it's a built in resistance wire from the ignition switch.

The Mallory is new:  bought on sale at Mallory 30 some years ago......, and being retired, cost IS a consideration.   But will it work ??   And do I use the Mallory specified resistor ??         George ??              Thanks.
