I don’t think you’ll find a 100% solution or instructions on this, because you are "sort of" in uncharted territory.
All I would say is you can try it.
You shouldn't really be risking anything by having too much resistance in the power feed for the coil.
In my experience when I had the ballast resistor in my system using the Ford TFI coil, the problem was not that it didn’t operate - it ran fine at lower RPMs, but I had problems with the engine was at higher RPMs. I believe the lower voltage to the coil didn't let it charge fully at higher RPMs. The engine would miss.
I took out the ballast resistor, and it has run great.
Give it a try... tell us what you find. Work on one car at a time.
