Ok, so this has taken another turn. When we compared Mangusta with the Duetto locks the shape of the spindle is different plus there is a small triangular (sort of) piece attached to the side to allow the button shaft to be pulled up to unlock. Both lock mechanisms are made by S.A.F.E. Both door trim panels have button holes and finishers on both side door panels at the top and they even have the original chassis number marked on the rear of panel. They just don't look as if the car has ever been re-trimmed.

Could his be yet another "German" finished car anomaly?

Does anyone else have door button or do you all lock the door from inside by pushing the handle down?
