Evening all. So, I thought I knew the specification on my car with regard to headlights but now I’m questioning it!
Mine is 8MA1028, LHD quad headlight ‘69 302 car which (i think) was originally a US car. It was imported (from wherever it began) into UK in 1972. History ‘ ownership since then is known but not before 1972.
The current headlights are Cibie and will have been replaced probably many times. In UK the sidelight is white and indicator ‘ turn is Orange unlike US cars so often Italian cars sold in US had different spec between Euro and US and sometimes EUro, UK and different again for UK!
currently the Cibie lights have a sidelight incorporated into headlight.
so my question is, was the stock position for sidelight inside outer headlight or indicator indicator (with a dual circuit bulb?)
2nd question is did US cars differ to Euro spec?
I know the Carello outer headlights for cars driven on left, are different to everywhere else which I’ve sourced but now I’m unsure where the sidelight should reside? And that changes the headlights I need to buy. ( to add to the complexity Carello made the “JOD” headlights both with and without provision for a sidelight! And they use the same reference on lens!).
anyone know for sure / fill in the gaps?
