Master and Slave cylinder rebuilds

Hello,

I've got #7102 up on stands for some winter attention.

Noticing evidence of fluid comsuption in the clutch master cylinder with an accumulation of gunk beneath the rubber boot at the slave cylinder. I presume I'll find the same on the hidden portion of the master cylinder.

The master cylinder has been replaced with what appears to be the Hall aluminum/stainless rebuildable master, slave cylinder looks stock

If this was a brake issue on one of my motorcycles I'd disassemble everything, clean and flush all parts and lines, put a light hone on the bores, renew or reuse the rubber parts as appropriate, reassemble, refill with DOT 5 silicone fluid, bleed and be done with it.

Is this a reasonable approach to the P-car clutch hydraulic system?

How long can I expect the hard red plastic portion of the line to hold out? Do these get replaced as a matter of course or do they just last forever?

Thanks in advance,
Larry.
