Reply to "MJ Machined Adapters for Tri-Spinners to Aluma-Star Wheels"

...let's see, where to begin.

The Sunroof (and Wing) were both Already Installed on this Pantera, when I purchased her back in 2001. I believe the Sunroof was installed by the Factory, for gifting the car to Kjell Qvale. Because the installation of the roof is way beyond the work of a 'mediocre' Shop. And, because this Pantera was sold to me, through 'Fantasy Junction' in Emeryville, CA. They bought it at the Monterey auction in 2000 for, (the reader is going to hate this) $16,000. The seller at FJ, reduced the price to $22,000. from the asking price of $24,000, because he believed the Sunroof Devalued the vehicle, And because I took responsibility to get the Machine 'Smogged'.  Yes! I was At the Right Place At the Right Time! They had the car for a short time, while their professional 'went through' the entire car, removing added wiring and refurbish the brakes. I wrote them a Check on first site, after a test drive! Bruce Insisted, before I take the car, He put it up on a Lift, and I see the underbelly, while we poked around and witness, everything as Solid!

Before the auction the car was stored in Qvales' collection in a Warehouse in San Francisco. I Do Not Believe, Qvale himself, had the Sunroof Installed. I am the second owner. I was advised, I was eligible to register the vehicle as 'Historic' (over 25 years old) where No Smog Test is required.

The Roof blends nicely with the ceiling fabric and there is a Rectangle 'void/pocket', that adds to the Headroom.

I really like it. Being able to look UP through the roof, is a great perspective, not many can enjoy. Especially at night, with stars and city lights. It is slightly tinted/mirrored. In Sunlight, I am sure to always wear a Hat!

It can be opened, supported, for ventilation and even, removed. But I don't remove it for fear of breakage. It would be Impossible to find a fitting replacement. The trim is Stainless Steel.

MJ

P.S. the Auction Estimate was $20,000-$30,000. My, how Time changes things!

At FJ, I could have bought the RED Countach 5000S, In MINT Condition, for $53,000! Not a Scratch On It!
