I have heard of simular things for stray currents.
I would be in 2 minds to do it.
You would have to go through a puddle from hell to get water in it from driving.
the holes would allow moisture to pass through, and not get trapped in there.

sorry I don't know, i would probably NOT do it.but do make sure the vent hole can breathe.
