Just wanted to get a little input on running this size tire on stock campys. (26x12-15 or 295/50/15)
I am relatively new to pantera ownership. I am falling into the dilemma that many of you have already posted about - finding good - new tires for the 15x8 wheel. I've also learned from hours of researching this on other threads that there are some tires to be found that have the "desired" high speed rating, but they are manufactured in small lots few and far between...and cost a pretty penny. I'm looking to replace my (decades old :/ ) tires and I'm not in position to upgrade to bigger diameter wheels/tire combo for a few years yet...though this is my ultimate goal.
I'm not looking to do any "high speed" driving on the track or otherwise, so I'm comfortable putting an H rated tire on, especially one that looks decent and is in the $200 range.
Without entering the debate about different tires in the front/rear, could anyone contribute there thoughts on how this tire fits on their stock 8" rears? All indications are that it will fit with no clearance issues. No it wont be ideal for running at 200mph. No it wont match my fronts, but for a stepping stone, (and a safety upgrade for my car) it seems like one of the better options out there. PanteraDoug posted some info about these tires and the BFG 295-50-15 radial TAs in a previous thread, but i have yet to see if anyone is running them and how it looks? Please post some pictures if you have this tire, or the BFG 295-50-15.
