John you are forgetting, the exhaust in the stock location has to snake through a little maze of rear suspension parts and even the headers fit into a tight spot. For the ultimate, 180 degree headers would be best and they can be huge, but with a good set of headers
you can get a nice sound along with performance.
The stock exhaust pipes were even smaller.
