Discolored clutch hydraulic fluid seems to be carbon black from OEM brake hoses, rust in steel lines and varnish from heat & moisture over time. The copper connecting line in front may have a small catalytic effect, too- especially with water present. Changing both clutch & brakes to teflon-lined AN hoses & eliminating the stock copper line cleared up discolorations but I still change fluid in clutch & brakes each Spring.
