You need to look at a wiring/fuse chart to see what goes where.

I just sent your the diagrams for the early model cars. Each diagram breaks down what it's for, the connections and the fuse amp needed.

The fuses are a different color because they conduct different amps and are marked as such amp wise and need to be replaced with the right ones. Too less an amp fuse and it will continually blow out losing the use of whatever it's intended for, to high an amp fuse, you start cooking your wiring because it doesn't blow out when the circuit is over loaded..

If you look at the ends of the fuses, both types should have pointed ends that fit into the fuse holder and secure it there. One is the old style plastic and the others are the newer glass style. Replace everything with the glass ones if you can. The newer glass style ones don't tend to corrode on the ends as do the plastic ones.
