Now, bear in mind I just received this today. And the vendor obviously hasn't had time to respond to my email just sent. The vendor is one of my favorites, has always done right by me, and I have no doubt this little problem will be resolved.

But, I just have to share this with you guys.

I ordered a new A/C evaporator. The kind with fewer heater tubes and more freon tubes. I asked it to be supplied with the old style flare A/C fittings, as I use and intend to retain R-12 as my refrigerant.

Those of you familiar with these units will notice the problems without me promptling you, but for the others....

The left hand photo is the heater lines. One line is the proper beaded fitting, and one is a female o-ring A/C fitting.

The right hand photo is the A/C freon lines. One is the old style flare fitting, and one is a male o-ring A/C fitting.

I am amazed.

Sure makes you wonder.....
