Mystery heater a/c electronics part

Can anyone help me identify this mystery part? It is a small a/c control module mounted on the back corner of my rheostat dial on the a/c control. It's a small black plastic box with a circuit board inside. The only writing on it is on the plastic case which reads "Plessey for Autoclima".

My car is a 1989 GT-5 with the Maserati heater a/c controls.
