Reply to "Need a New Clutch. My old 3 finger clutch is shot. Need to replace all. What is the best clutch setup? My old clutch was a zoom. They went china on parts."

There are two main choices: either a stock Long-type 3-finger 11" (or a 10-1/2") clutch plate like you have which bolts onto a stock flywheel, or a full aftermarket clutch (maybe a diaphragm type) that likely will need a redrilled or aftermarket flywheel & many adjustments. Some mfgrs once rebuilt used pressure plates, but I haven't heard of any recently; you could inquire. An unsuitable clutch will wear your $$$$ ZF synchros. FWIW, synchros are OEM in our 90-k-mile-car as well as the OEM pressure plate that came on it in 1980, with an aftermarket friction disc. The entire rest of my assembly is aftermarket except for the effort-reduction system under the dash. I don't recommend doing this except in special circumstances.

Generally, the more non-vendor-supplied clutch parts in the system, the more adjustments that car will need to work correctly. Depends on how good a Pantera mechanic you are (different from a plain ol' car mechanic), and what exactly you expect from your DeTomaso. Unless you are running over about 550 bhp at the flywheel and really use the power a lot, a stock-strength single pressure plate will work without slippage and can be set up to be easy on the leg.

I know what I'm doing (now) and it wasn't easy or cheap getting here, so based on this and not knowing your capabilities, I suggest you call several Pantera vendors and have a nice conversation about what you think you need. Their assemblies will fit together without time-wasting adjustments and most do installations.  Like you, I also avoid off-shore parts due to dependability/warranty concerns, or 'heavy-duty' or track-car clutches which are invariably too stiff for comfortable street driving. Only really dedicated (or poor) owners should try to piece together a DeTomaso street clutch from 'available' parts.
