I can't see anybody exchanging the 1 3/8" tubes for something smaller?? Did You Measure acurately?? If you can't find 1 3/8" hose, Buy 1 1/2" You only have to 'Clamp' it down 1/8th Inch to get it to seal. Perhaps your hose IS 1 1/2" and therefore looks too large for the pipes. Just clamp them down tight, use 2 clamps at each hose end. When you get to where your replacing the 2 heater hoses under the dash; you will find that you need hoses that must go from the (Console Tubes) at 3/4" down to the Heater core tubes which are 5/8". You'll probably never find such an animal, I looked! So You use a 3/4" hose and clamp it down the 1/8th Inch to fit tight to the smaller tube. The water pump INLET is 2.0" That hose comes off a METAL gooseneck Tube(in Later Cars) from the lower tube (drivers side) at 1 3/8" and has a 2.0" coupling welded on the top end to match with the 2.0" hose to the W. Pump. That hose is aprox. 5.0" to 6.0" in length. Earlier cars had a 'Double 90 Degree' Hose instead of the metal goosneck, the bottom end was 1 3/8" with the Top rubber being 2.0" to meet with the Water Pump. The 1 1/2" and 2.0" 'Standard Size' hoses are NOT dificult to locate! The 1 3/8" will take some Hunting, but I have found ALL I needed at 'Kragens' and 'Napa auto parts'; They DID let me go in the 'Back' and search and Measure everything! Good-Luck with it!...

gee, thanks i guess. what part of they wont let anyone go in the back and look around do you not under stand?

i live in RURAL Georgia and we dont have a endless supply of stores. try driving over an hour to the city to go to one store and be told you cant look at the hoses they have.

i have the 1 3/8 inch hose, and replaced ALL of the other hoses on the car, but i need to find the last 3 hoses that hook up the aft ends of the metal tubes under the car to the engine on the left side ( 2 hoses) and the 90 degree to the tank on the right side.

sorry if my post was was confusing, but if you have nothing nice to say, perhaps you should say nothing.
