OK - just got my dash out & found the two pair of wires in your first photo. They are bundled together with the wires for the speedo and the brake warning light(s) between the pods. In my car, the red/blk & blu/wht pair, also the red & grey pair, are folded back and taped off; they don't go anywhere. This appears to be as original.

I did notice on the schematic are shown two warning lights between the pods, and I have seen some cars that have two. Mine, and I assume yours, has only one. The mystery wires however don't match the schematic as shown for the other warning light. I don't know what these wires might have been intended for. Maybe I'll see something when I get it further apart.

I haven't yet found the large pink wire with the bare terminal on it, I'll look again next chance I get. As for the ground lug on the ignition switch, I believe Mikael is right. Mine has it too, and it was unused.
