Next, have it welded by someone I trust--an airplane welder... the threaded insert was made up by a local machinist out of 4140 steel; I tried to re-tap some weld-in inserts that I bought off Ebay, but the 22.0x1.5mm thread was beyond my abilities and the fit in the tube about 15 thousands loose...
