New rear fenders being made at The Edge Products for Pantera 4384.
All four fenders are going to be replaced with new sheet metal.
They are being formed on an English wheel to the shape of the car.
When the new wheels, (even that project is dragging on forever) are complete the four corners will be cut out & the new complete sections welded in.
Another long term project, but no cutting or disassembly of the car needs to be done until the new wheels & four new fenders are completed.
So I can keep driving it until all of the four corners are made.
The reason for new metal?
The previous owner had the four corners tubbed outward by approx 40mm, an OK look but they used too much body filler in the process & the flares were to suit the smaller diameter 345/35-15 tyres.
New sheet metal will remove all of the old fender modifications, & although it will retain the tubbed out look, the amount of body filler will be minimal.
Rear fenders will be replaced from the door back to the tail lights & from the rear hood down to the sills.
19x13” rear rims with 345/35-19 Bridgestone tyres are being tucked under big steel GT4 flares.
17x9.5” front rims with 255/40-17 Bridgestone tyres only require steel GTS flares as the rim offset is central to retain good steering geometry.
