I don't think there are any markings, but I sure would get a bright light and start looking.

You can test them on a home bathroom scale. There should be enough difference in rates to find the difference.

And bear in mind the shocks themselves may not have been valved the same.

Were there no labels on them from the previous seller?

Could you do some CSI work on them for road rash, dirt??? to figure out where they were, or which ones were pairs?
