In the near term the GT goes on top. I need to go through a few things for piece of mind. Some minor leaks to fix. Also need to do some suspension and alignment tuning. It's never been titled. Iowa law changed in May of 2008 allowing it to be titled as a 1966 Ford GT40 MkII. Problem is, the state is not required to "administratively enact" the law until Jan 1, 2010. Titled as a 1966 it costs me $50 a year for registration and tags. If it is titled as a 2009 something-or-other, it's based on value and could be $1500-2000/year as long as I own the car -ouch. I need to get this right and hopefully draw a reasonable inspector to perform the initial inspection for titling.
